Murano Silver's Metals Range
Pewter
Pewter is a dark silvery grey colour, it is heardwearing and inexpensive.
Murano Silver stocks a large range of individual Pewter Jewellery & Giftwear
including celtic birth charms, mens jewellery, photo frames and presentation pens. We're also main stockists of the St Justin range of Cornish Pewter (made here in the UK).
Silver
Being a silversmith, silver is one of my favourite metals. It is a beautiful blue-white metal which is easy to clean and inexpensive to buy. We make a large proportion of our jewellery in silver including necklaces, earrings, brooches and rings.
Most Silver lovers now choose White Gold or Platinum wedding rings as silver does tend to get dented with wear and tear. However, we can make "commitment bands" that you'll chereish forever.
White Gold
Cheaper than Platinum, White Gold is actually created by mixing traditional Yellow Gold with Palladium (a metal similar to Platinum) to produce a whiter colour. It’s available in both 9 and 18 carat. We can make items in both purities of white gold and give you the choice of a plated or unplated finish.
If plated we use
Rhodium, a rare and very expensive metal, to produce an even whiter finish (ring shown is Rhodium plated).
Platinum
Platinum a steely white colour & one of the more expensive metals. Platinum is generally 95% pure (called Platinum 950) which makes it dense, durable very hard wearing and relatively heavy. It is a popular choice for wedding bands but we can also make pendants and earrings to your own design.
Titanium

Titanium is a "white" metal with a slight charcoal gray hue. Its natural color is darker and deeper than silver or white gold. It could be compared to platinum but with a slightly darker hue.. We have a very good range of Titanuim wedding bands in stock in the five most popular finger sizes. Other sizes can be made by special order.
.
Gold
Gold comes in a variety of forms and values, depending on the amount of pure Gold and the other metals mixed in.
Yellow Gold

9ct gold is a paler yellow than 18ct gold (which is richer in colour). It is favoured by traditionalists & by people with warmer skin tones. It provides superb contrast with precious stones and other metals, which allows the creation of attractive patterned and two tone rings.
Rose Gold
Growing in popularity, especially amongst people looking for a romantic or traditional style ring, or for those who wear yellow gold and would like a ‘special’ metal for their wedding ring without the dramatic change that the white metals bring, Rose Gold is a compound of Yellow Gold containing a high proportion of copper to create that rich glow.
